Where's FEMA now that it's Barack's watch...

WHERE’S FEMA? Nearly 1M without power 5 days after ice storm. “Local officials grew angrier at what they said was a lack of help from the state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.”

Wasn't it not too long ago that everyone was screaming about FEMA not showing up quick enough to New Orleans and surrounding areas after Hurricane Katrina, and it somehow being George W. Bush's fault?

Well... who's watch is it NOW?! Oh that's right, too busy planning a superbowl party in the "people's house", except the "people" that got the invitation for the party are not the ordinary citizens.

Super Bowl bet: What will the thermostat temp be at the White House party?

About Time!! -- Capitol Visitors Center told to send back 'Made in China' items

CNN: Washington souvenirs worth $100,000 — including images of the Capitol dome and printings of the U.S. Constitution — are locked in storage, blocked from sale in the new U.S. Capitol Visitors Center because the items are made in China.

Rep. Bob Brady, D-Pennsylvania: "We can certainly find people that can make souvenirs of the nation's capital in America," Brady said. In the past 10 days, he said, up to 40 U.S. companies have contacted his officer [sic] eager to provide Capitol souvenirs and trinkets.

Well its about f'ing time!!! Now, if more people would follow suit and support American businesses.

Celebration in the White House

On the heels of the most expensive inaugural celebration in American history and passage of a trillion-dollar spending binge that will saddle future generations with unprecedented debt, perhaps President Obama might consider cutting back on such indulgences.
Or is the White House exempt from “shared sacrifice,” Mr. President?

At least the House Republicans can hold their heads high for not Bending Over on the 2009 $819Billion debt for the future.

Corruption at every level of government -- this time Mississippi mayor

CNN: Mississippi mayor, wife arrested on Katrina fraud charges

The mayor of Gulfport, Mississippi, and his wife were arrested Wednesday on charges they defrauded the federal government and an insurance company of more than $220,000 in claims related to Hurricane Katrina, authorities said.
SAD SAD SAD. Can any level of government be trusted anymore?

Harry Reid's out of control spending

PORK: $335,000,000 FOR STD PREVENTION IN ECONOMIC STIMULUS BILL

DrudgeReport: Democrats may have eliminated provisions on birth control and sod for the National Mall in the "job stimulus" -- but buried on page 147 of the bill is stimulation for prevention of sexually transmitted diseases

...

"
Whether this funding has merit is not the question; the point is it has no business in an economic plan supposedly focused on job creation," says a stimulated Hill source.

Stop thief, kill the bill, melt the phones

Throwing bad taxpayer money after bad taxpayer money. Remember, you and I (and our children for generations) will have to pay for this for years to come..... $800Billion is a big wheelbarrow full of money.

The non-partisan CBO tells eternal truths about government spending in the past, present, and future:
Frequently in the past, in all types of federal programs, a noticeable lag has occurred between sharp increases in budget authority and the resulting increases in outlays. Based on such experiences, CBO expects that federal agencies, along with states and other recipients of that funding, would find it difficult to properly manage and oversee a rapid expansion of existing programs so as to expend the added funds as quickly as they expend the resources provided for their ongoing programs.

All I can say is OMG... Democrats Launch Petition Against Rush Limbaugh After Firing Back at Obama

FOXNews.com: Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launches an online petition to express outrage at Rush Limbaugh after he said he wanted President Obama to fail.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an online petition to express outrage at conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh for saying he wanted President Obama to "fail."

Uhm... don't we have bigger things to worry about in this country? An economy that is in the toilet, bloody monday with 71,000+ jobs lost this week, stimulus package on Capital Hill... but the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee thinks that an online petition to express outrage to a radio show host should be focused on instead of the other issues?!

If Blagojevich and Illinois are excluded in stimulus, why not include "Buy American"?!

If the State of Illinois is excluded from stimulus funding because Blagojevich is still holding office as Governor, then why don't they add in an inclusion to Buy American?

Add in the requirement for anyone who gets one cent from this stimulus package to either buy their goods or services from American businesses ONLY. Stop sending money over to other countries for cheaper labor, lead loaded toys for tots, etc..

Wouldn't this help the economy, along with the majority of small businesses that make up the majority of business in the United States?

What happened to pride and innovation in America? Oh that's right, we can outsource for cheaper labor and people who only care about receiving the dollars.

Cafferty File: Pelosi says birth control will help the economy. Is she right?

HD from Phoenix, AZ writes:
You must be joking? With all the hard challenges this country is facing, this is the best she can come up with to help stimulate the economy. The People’s Socialist Republic of California needs to put a muzzle on that woman.

We can't agree more... where's the muzzle?!

Democrats Lower Hopes Stimulus Package Will Shore Up Battered Economy

Administration warns the country could face a long and painful financial recovery, even with major government intervention to stimulate the economy.

Reality sets in...

Politicians out of touch with reality

Watching Glenn Beck on Fox News doing an interview with Sarah Palin (1/19/09), he brings up a good point. When is the last time a politician has gone to Wendys and ordered a frosty... and ordered it themselves. When was the last time they went to a gas station and filled up their tanks with a gallon of gas... gas they paid for themselves and pumped themselves?

Perhaps if politicians had been in touch with reality, they would more fully understand what the low and middle class in this country deals with each and everyday.

California is coming unraveled at the seams...

...day 81 without a budget and unemployment over 9%... One would think the Speaker of the House, who hails from California herself, along with Senators Feinstein and Boxer, would take more of an interest in the problems going on in our beloved state.

Granted, the Speaker has had a busy schedule lately up on Capital Hill with all the photo ops with the new administration, and Feinstein has been busy being Mistress of Ceremonies for the inauguration of the new administration... But where has Boxer been? Not a peep out of her in awhile.

Well I guess we'll just sit back and endure the bleak and bumpy ride, while foreclosures and unemployment are on the rise.

Obama reverses abortion-funding policy

President Obama struck down a rule Friday that prohibits U.S. money from funding international family-planning clinics that promote abortion or provide counseling or referrals about abortion services.

Now tell me how in the hell this is going to stimulate the US economy... help the many of Americans who have lost their jobs... the many people whose homes are going into foreclosure...

How you can spend hundreds of millions of dollars on contraceptives – how does that stimulate the economy?

After White House Meeting, Boehner Discusses House GOP's Economic Recovery Proposals

HOUSE REPUBLICAN LEADER JOHN BOEHNER (R-OH):

How you can spend hundreds of millions of dollars on contraceptives – how does that stimulate the economy?

Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails

Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. - Rush Limbaugh

Government growing bigger?! The problem IS the government.
